The Customer Strategic Analytics team is responsible for performing advanced analytics, measurement, and decision support for Best Buy’s customer strategies. This role will be focused on supporting cross-functional business partners and providing meaningful insights to support on key business decisions based on our customers profile and behavior. As a Decision Scientist on the Strategic Analytics team, you will lead and execute sophisticated analyses to deliver strategic insights and elevate our analytics capabilities. You will proactively identify opportunities, define analytical frameworks, independently scope and manage projects, and deliver compelling insights through advanced data analysis and impactful visualizations. The Customer Strategic Analytics team support strategic customer behavior decision-making, providing profiles and composition analysis of our customers and their performance to identify opportunity areas, and value targeting and measurement of various other growth tactics. This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days at our corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota, and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location. Responsibilities
Influence cross-functional teams by providing compelling data-driven insights that guide strategic decisions.
Act as a trusted advisor to the business team, using data analytics to challenge assumptions, identify opportunities, and drive strategic initiatives.
Create dashboards and executive presentations that translate complex results into clear, actionable recommendations.
Present complex analytics results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, crafting clear, persuasive narratives that drive action.
Keep abreast of new theories, strategies and best practices in the industry and think beyond current knowledge and existing assumptions to develop new solutions, applications and strategies
Requirements
3 or more years of experience in retail, analytics, business, or related area
2 or more years of experience converting data into insights for business audiences
3 or more years of experience applying analytical and statistical techniques to answer business questions or scientific questions including descriptive analytics, hypothesis testing, causal inference.
3 or more years of experience of applying SQL to solve real ‑ world business problems.
1 or more years of experience leveraging data science and data visualization tools, such as R and/or Python, and Looker/PowerBI/Tableau.
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Physical Sciences, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, or similar field with quantitative rigor
