The Critical Care PA will provide direct clinical services to critically ill patients with multi-organ or multi-system disease failure in adult surgical, and medical ICUs. The PA will work 50/50 days/nights and 2/4 weekends per schedule
Responsibilities include:
Documentation of patient health histories and complete physical examinations
Formulate and implement treatment plan for acute illness management in collaboration with the supervising physician
Assess patients’ change in status and institute appropriate interventions
Initiate necessary emergency interventions to stabilize patients
Provide family centered care, communicating with family regarding the changing health care needs of their family members
Perform approved diagnostic therapeutic or diagnostic procedures based on the patient’s clinical status
Experience and Education:
Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant school
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Registered as a Physician's Assistant in New York
ACLS/BLS
Excellent communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment with members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive patient care
Prior experience as a PA in Critical Care a plus
